Financial Auditor
The Legislative Audit Bureau is seeking financial auditors to join our team. The Legislative Audit Bureau is a nonpartisan service agency of the Wisconsin Legislature that is responsible for conducting financial audits and performance evaluations of Wisconsin state agencies and programs. **Position Summary:** Financial auditors are typically assigned to a variety of financial and federal compliance audits of state agencies.
Responsibilities include:
* interviewing agency staff;
* testing controls and account balances;
* documenting procedures and testing using Prosystem Engagement and Knowledge Coach software;
* using analytical tools to evaluate transactions;
* drawing conclusions on assigned audit work; and
* working collaboratively with team members.
Entry-level auditors work closely with an experienced team leader. All new auditors are assigned a mentor as they transition to the Bureau.

* Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting and is eligible to sit for, or has already taken, the CPA Exam (CPA preferred but not required);
* solid academic performance;
* foundational analytical and critical thinking skills;
* sound written and verbal communication skills;
* works well independently and within a team setting; and
* good interpersonal skills.
